Trainer App Reference
The trainer app is your command center for running medical simulation sessions. This reference covers every feature available to trainers.
Dashboard
After logging in, the dashboard shows:
- Welcome message with your name and organization
- Plan information — current plan type, trainee limits, plan expiry
- Quick actions — start a new session, manage scenarios, view history
- Recent sessions — your last sessions with date and trainee count
Session management
Creating a session
Tap Start Session to create a new live session. Each session generates:
- A unique 6-character join code
- A QR code that trainees scan to connect
- A shareable link
Session states
| State | Description |
|---|---|
| Active | Session is live. Trainees see real-time vitals. |
| Suspended | Session paused. Trainees see a waiting room. |
| Ended | Session closed permanently. No reconnection possible. |
Connected trainees
During an active session, you can see:
- Total number of connected trainees
- Each trainee’s display name
- Connection status indicator (connected, reconnecting, disconnected)
Sessions automatically end after 12 hours of inactivity.
Metric controls
Control four vital signs in real-time from the trainer console:
Heart rate
- Range: 0–300 bpm
- Default: 75 bpm
- Adjust with slider or direct number input
SpO2 (oxygen saturation)
- Range: 0–100%
- Default: 98%
- Adjust with slider or direct number input
Blood pressure
- Systolic range: 0–300 mmHg
- Diastolic range: 0–200 mmHg
- Default: 120/80 mmHg
- Adjust systolic and diastolic independently
Respiratory rate
- Range: 0–60 breaths/min
- Default: 16 breaths/min
- Adjust with slider or direct number input
All changes propagate to connected trainee devices in real-time.
Alarm triggers
Trigger clinical alarms to simulate emergency conditions:
| Alarm | Visual | Audio |
|---|---|---|
| Respiratory | Flashing lung icon | Alarm tone |
| Cardiac | Flashing heart icon | Alarm tone |
| Dysglycemia | Visual indicator | Distinct audio pattern |
| Massive hemorrhage | Visual alert overlay | Alert tone |
| Loss of consciousness | Visual alert overlay | Distinct audio pattern |
Multiple alarms can be active simultaneously. Trainees receive visual overlays, audio alerts, and vibration feedback.
Scenario library
Default scenarios
SimuVital includes pre-built starter scenarios covering common clinical situations. These cannot be edited but can be duplicated and customized.
Custom scenarios
Create your own scenarios with specific metric values and alarm settings:
- Create — Set a name, configure all four vitals, optionally enable alarms
- Edit — Modify any saved scenario
- Duplicate — Copy an existing scenario as a starting point
- Delete — Remove scenarios you no longer need
Pinned scenarios
Pin frequently used scenarios for quick access. Pinned scenarios appear:
- At the top of the scenario list
- In the session quick-access panel during active sessions
Applying scenarios
During an active session, select a scenario and tap Apply. All configured metrics and alarms update simultaneously across all connected devices.
Session history
View a record of your past sessions:
- Session date and duration
- Number of trainees connected
- Scenarios applied during the session
Access session history from the dashboard or the History section.
